Off-Island Outreach

The Chapel is a member of the Southport-Oak Island Inter-Church Fellowship, a group of 18 area churches that connects the faith community.  The Chapel distributes monies to the SOIICF for the local Food Pantry Special Needs Fund.  Volunteers participate in the Christmas Angel Tree ministry in December for needy children in Brunswick County as well as a Christmas-in-July Tree to help children with back-to-school supplies.  In the fall, the Chapel also sponsors an annual CROP Walk (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) to provide food and other services for the needy in Southport and Brunswick County.  In addition, the Chapel provides volunteers and funds to assist the local Habitat for Humanity organization in the construction of houses in the Southport area.

As part of the Chapel's On-Island Outreach, Rev. Dr. Garrett Albertson, an ordained Presbyterian minister, is available to assist with spiritual needs of all persons living on or visiting Bald Head Island.  Contact 910 540-3383.  Text message may be sent to the same number or email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Altar Guild

Members of the Altar Guild assist the weekly minister, prepare the altar, set up for Communion and coordinate with “Greet and Seat” volunteers.  They also prepare for private or in-service Baptisms, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday and Easter services.  In addition, they decorate the Chapel and Chapel condo for Christmas.
